You know it's officially summer when the farm stands start popping up again. Growing up in Ohio, that was always the sign that the season had truly arrived. With all the crop fields around, there were farm stands on nearly every corner, selling everything from sweet corn to strawberries. One of my favorites was the peach stand right across the street from my childhood home. I could walk over on a hot July afternoon and come back with peach jam, peach pies, and just about anything else you could possibly derive from peaches. And they were always better than anything you'd ever find at a grocery store.

That's the magic of farm stands: they bring people together and offer homegrown goods from sustainable farming practices that simply taste better. So, it's no surprise that in this story, a local farm stand became a hot commodity in its community. Well… for everyone except one person.
